The first Brazilian BIM viewer, fully integrated with a document management system for the construction industry, has been launched!
The São Paulo–based company Webproject has just announced the launch of its BIM viewer, based on IFC, fully integrated with its management system. The BIM viewer presentation was held at a private event promoted by the company itself on August 3, 2017, in Vila Olímpia, São Paulo. The Webproject platform is the first fully Brazilian-developed EDM system with an integrated IFC-based BIM model viewing tool.[/caption] This is the first tool fully developed in Brazil that integrates electronic document management (EDM) for the construction industry with a BIM model viewer. This solution works on any device (computers, tablets, phones) and on any platform (Windows, Mac OS, Android, iOS, etc.). In the Webproject BIM viewer, it is possible to federate models from various disciplines, save issues (already written computationally in the .BCF standard), and access information about objects and their property sets. This is the same as what happens in well-established foreign platforms, such as Trimble Connect, Nemetschek's BIM Plus, Autodesk's A360, BIMSync, among others. BIM training accelerated development of the BIM viewer

The product started being developed just three months ago and gained momentum after the BIM Project Coordination and Clash Detection training we, at TI Lab, provided. During the course, Marcos and Felipe expanded their knowledge on the subject and gained more references to move forward with their research and development process. The instructor of this course and director of TI Lab, João Gaspar, was a guest at the event, and gave the presentation "Demystifying BIM", which addresses various questions related to the subject. In the talk, Gaspar explained that the goal of the training is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge so that clients and designers who will use BIM know how they should write their new contracts, which will be based on the new BIM-based work processes.
