Unicamp hosts international speakers at symposium on virtualization in design and construction

The SBTIC 2019 - Brazilian Symposium on Information and Communication Technology in Construction takes place between August 19 and 21 at the Unicamp Convention Center, in Campinas, São Paulo. The event is organized biennially by the National Association of Built Environment Technology (ANTAC).

This year, the symposium's theme is Intelligent Virtualization in Design and Construction. The event's first day, Monday, called Industry Day, was reserved for presentations by the international guests: Prof. Dr. Burcin Becerik-Gerber, Prof. Dr. Burcu Akinci, and Prof. Dr. Rafael Sacks.

On the 20th and 21st, Tuesday and Wednesday, there will be talks and round tables on augmented reality, digitization of the built environment, automation on construction sites, and IoT and BIM for digital twin production. Technical sessions will also take place on these two days.

In the days leading up to the main event, workshops will be held on research methodology and the use of software for structural and architectural design.
