Which Version of Vectorworks Can Be Used With My Operating System?
If you're planning to upgrade your computer to Windows 7, Windows 8, or Mac OSX 10.7 Lion, or if you're planning to upgrade Vectorworks on an older computer, check out this technical article from NV to see which Vectorworks versions can be used with which operating systems:
Windows 8 — you can use VW 2012 onward.
Windows 7 (32-bit) — you can use VW 2008 SP3 onward.
Windows 7 (64-bit) — supports VW 2009 SP5 up to the most recent versions.
Windows XP (32-bit) — from VW 12.5.3 onward.
Windows XP (64-bit) — not recommended with any version.
Mac OSX 10.9 Mavericks — VW 2014 onward (minimum VW 2013 to Service Pack 5)
Mac OSX 10.7 Lion and 10.8 Mountain Lion — VW 2011 SP4 onward.
Mac OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard — supports VW 2009 SP5 up to the most recent versions.
Mac OSX 10.5.8 Leopard — from VW 12.5.3 onward (Intel processors only!)
Mac OSX 10.4.11 Tiger — only up to VW 2009 SP5
Mac OSX 10.3.9 Panther — only up to VW 2008 SP3
