In this presentation you'll see how the evolution of technology brings new possibilities for creation and production. While product design once had to be conceived around large-scale industrial processes, we are now witnessing the beginning of the era of small-scale industrialization, in which 3D modeling processes, internet-based collaboration, and fabrication can help define design going forward. Because of this, it's now possible for any designer, anywhere on the planet, to have their creation produced and valued at no cost, being paid based on the quality of their work. Our talks count as complementary activities in undergraduate architecture, engineering, and design courses. Duration: 1 hour Target audience: students of Industrial Design, Product Design, and Architecture from 1st year onward João Gaspar – Architect graduated from FAU-USP in 1999, gives numerous talks on BIM, technology, and the use of computing for architecture, engineering, and design. He has more than 14 years of experience in teaching, research, and the creation of educational material, heading TI Lab (a training center specialized in BIM) and ProBooks Editora, both headquartered in São Paulo. TI Lab offers more than 20 training courses, among which the Revit, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, Rhino, and SketchUp courses stand out. ProBooks is a publishing house that was born out of the production of educational content for TI Lab's courses. Our focus is editing and publishing content related to technology and digital design for architecture and design. ProBooks Editora's portfolio includes, among others, the books ArchiCAD passo a passo, Vectorworks passo a passo, and SketchUp Pro 2013 passo a passo; the latter has been translated into English and Spanish.
