The Flattery Plugin is another alternative for unfolding a 3D SketchUp model to make a physical model (or scale model).
It works inside SketchUp and is free, but requires a bit of practice, since nothing is automatic—you're the one who "unfolds" the model and draws the joining tabs, which makes it much harder to use on slightly more complex models.
Even so, Flattery is a good option for making physical models of simpler geometry.
