How to choose rendering software

·1 min read
There are many programs for texturing, lighting, and creating animations and panoramas from 3D models. Solutions can range from the simple and efficient Render[in] to the powerful Cinema 4D. To choose the software best suited to your work, you need to consider the production time of a 3D rendering in order to fit it into your schedule and your clients' expectations. This presentation discusses the main factors involved in this choice, so that students and professionals can be clearer when choosing one rendering program over another. Our talks are given as complementary activities in undergraduate courses in architecture, engineering, and design. Duration: 1 hour Target audience: Architecture students from the 2nd year onward João Gaspar – An architect who graduated from FAU-USP in 1999, he gives numerous talks on BIM, technology, and the use of computing in architecture, engineering, and design. He has more than 14 years of experience in teaching, research, and the creation of educational materials, leading TI Lab (a specialized BIM training center) and ProBooks Editora, both headquartered in São Paulo. TI Lab offers more than 20 courses, among which the Revit, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, Rhino, and SketchUp courses stand out. ProBooks is a publisher that grew out of producing educational content for TI Lab's courses. Our focus is editing and publishing content related to technology and digital design for architecture and design. ProBooks Editora's portfolio includes, among others, the books ArchiCAD Step by Step, Vectorworks Step by Step, and SketchUp Pro 2013 Step by Step; the latter has been translated into English and Spanish.
