How to Create Multiple Scenes at Once to Represent Floor Plans

The TI Lab / ProBooks Editora team is responsible for developing courses and producing books and other content for various software programs, including SketchUp. Among the best-known examples are the book SketchUp Pro 2013 passo a passo and the Biblioteca SketchUp Designer Tiago. The big news is that the team has now started studying the development of extensions (plugins) for SketchUp, under the GetPro label!
The first product, still in beta, is the extension Cenas para fazer plantas. With it, you'll be able to automatically create several horizontal cutting planes that can be used to represent the various levels of a building. When using the tool, you'll need to enter the elevations of the levels you want to represent, and you'll set the height (relative to the level's elevation) of the floor plan's cutting plane, which defaults to 1.20m; you can also choose the name of the scene that will be created for each level. Once the scenes representing the levels have been created, the tip is to use them as viewports in SketchUp LayOut or export the scenes as 2D files, such as DWG, JPG, etc., for use in other programs.
As you keep clicking OK, the window keeps reopening and offering the option to create another scene. Once you've created the scenes you wanted, simply click Cancel to finish. Notice that all the scenes representing the levels are created in top view with the Display Section Cuts tool enabled; in addition, a new layer called "Cutting Planes" is created, containing the cutting planes.
The first time the options window opens, you can choose to create two additional scenes: Current View Scene, which preserves the camera position before running the extension, and Index Scene, which displays all the cutting planes created during the tool's execution in isometric view.
