How to use BIM in feasibility studies for the real estate market?

In this talk, the architect, writer, BIM consultant, and director of TI Lab, João Gaspar, presents how real estate development feasibility study processes can be improved with the help of BIM, with the goal of increasing developers' decision-making accuracy. The presentation aims to clarify the following points:
– But, after all, what is the problem with the current real estate appraisal methods?
– What is BIM? What does this thing called BIM have to do with the real estate market?
– How is BIM applied to feasibility and sustainability studies, and what financial and urban impact can this bring?
– What happens to the relationship between developers, construction companies, and design firms, regarding
contracts, workflows, project approval, construction execution and monitoring, and maintenance?
– The use of BIM at the building scale: how to build, manage, and maintain more rational, efficient buildings with more quality over time.
The talk will take place on July 19, Tuesday, at 7 PM, at TI Lab, and will be streamed live online.

About the speaker
João Gaspar is an architect, graduated from FAU-USP in 1999, and gives numerous talks on BIM, technology, and the use of computing for architecture, engineering, and design. He has more than 16 years of experience in teaching, research, and the creation of educational materials, leading TI Lab (a training center specialized in BIM) and ProBooks Editora, both headquartered in São Paulo.
In the past year (2015), among João Gaspar's various professional and research activities, notable highlights include the launch of the book Revit step by step - volume I, the publication of papers at major conferences such as CIBW78 2015 (Eindhoven, Netherlands) and TIC 2015 (Recife), as well as being an invited speaker for the round table "BIM and Education" at SIGraDI 2015 (Florianópolis) and signing a technical cooperation agreement on BIM processes with the Planning Secretariat of the State Government of Santa Catarina.
TI Lab, in operation since 2000, offers more than 20 training courses, notably including Revit, ArchiCAD, Vectorworks, Rhino, SketchUp, Microstation, and DProfiler. TI Lab is an authorized training center for Bentley, McNeel, and BeckTECH.
