The Implicit Theory of Project Management Is Obsolete

My friend, architect João Petrocelle, translated/wrote/coordinated an excellent article featured in this month's Mundo Project Managment magazine. Below is a copy of the teaser text for his piece. The authors argue and demonstrate that project management, as a discipline and as it is currently practiced, is in crisis. The underlying theory is insufficient and needs to be developed, expanded, and consolidated. The impacts of these limitations are observed empirically in project outcomes. And they conclude by pointing to important directions for advances in this field.
